Two youths have been arrested by the Chandigarh Police for allegedly duping a city resident of Rs 1 lakh by claiming that he had won a lottery.

According to the police, complainant Bhag Singh, a resident of Bahalpur village in Mullanpur district, reported that he received a call from a person who claimed that he had won a lottery of Rs 1 crore. The fraudster claimed that to claim the money, the victim would have to pay Rs 10 lakh as tax.

The police said on November 20, the complainant was asked to come near the gurdwara in Sector 34, where he met two youths, Chetan (24) and Rahul (25).
