The much-sought-after number, 0001, has once again caught the fancy of residents as it was sold for Rs 4.62 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 50,000 at an e-auction of vanity numbers of the new vehicle registration series, CH 01 CA.

The two-day e-auction conducted by the Registering and Licensing Authority concluded today. Acme Builders has bought the number.

Though 0001 fetched a lesser amount this time as compared to the last auction, it witnessed a fierce competition till the last moment.

Last time, 0001 of the vehicle registration series CH 01 BZ had fetched Rs 15.35 lakh.

This time, 0005 fetched the second highest amount of Rs 2.80 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 30,000, while 0003 was bought for Rs 2.55 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 30,000. The number, 0007, was sold for Rs 1.72 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 30,000; 0009 was bought for Rs 1.72 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 30,000; 0006 for Rs 1.70 lakh against the reserve price of Rs 30,000; and 0002 for Rs 82,000.

The successful bidders will be required to pay the bidding amount within a month after adjusting the reserve price to get the numbers. Vanity number 0001 always receives a good response from the bidders. It was sold for Rs 26.05 lakh in 2012 for the CH 01 AP series.
