Chandigarh, October 16

The city today witnessed 55 cases of coronavirus and five deaths, taking the tally to 13,532 and toll to 206.

A 49-year-old woman from Mauli Jagran, a case of chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension, died at the PGI.

Another 49-year-old woman from Sector 35, a case of hypertension, died at the GMCH, Sector 32.

A 57-year-old man from Sector 41, a case of hypertension and SARI, also died at the GMCH.

A 61-year-old woman from Sector 56, a case of chronic kidney disease, hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus, died at Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula.

A 75-year-old man from Ram Darbar, a case of SARI and hypertension, died at the GMCH.

A total of 120 patients were cured, taking the tally of recovered patients to 12,352. There are 974 active cases now.
