Chandigarh, January 17

A commuter took to “X”, formerly Twitter, to highlight alleged corruption in the Chandigarh traffic police.

Ajay Chaurasiya said he took a wrong lane, meant for only two-wheelers, near a turn towards Behlana at old airport light point on Tuesday, following which he was stopped by a traffic cop. He claimed the cop fined him Rs 500 and made him transfer the money via Gpay to an account named Deepak General Store. He attached the screenshot of the payment in the post and tagged “X” handles of all UT police officers. The traffic police have sought details of the incident.
