Scholarships for meritorious sportspersons

CHANDIGARH: The UT Sports Department will provide scholarships to the sportspersons who had finished among the top-three in various national championships during the 2017-18 season.

The UT Sports Department will provide scholarships to the sportspersons who had finished among the top-three in various national championships during the 2017-18 season. 

Players associated with the registered disciplines like archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, boxing, basketball, cricket, canoeing/ kayaking, cycling, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, handball, judo, kabaddi, kho-kho, tennis, rifle shooting, rowing, skating, swimming, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling, can apply for the scholarships, the Sports Department said here on Wednesday. 

The interested athletes can obtain applications from the office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), www.chandigarh.nc.in or from their respective institutions/associations, the department said, adding that the forms should be submitted to the Office of the DSO before October 5. — TNS
