Traffic diversions to be in place for 3 days

CHANDIGARH:In view of the Rose Festival, the police have decided to introduce road diversions near the venue on February 23 and 24.

In view of the Rose Festival, the police have decided to introduce road diversions near the venue on February 23 and 24. 

 Police officials said in view of the anticipated rush of visitors, the entire road stretch from the Sector 16/17 light point up to Matka Chowk on Jan Marg shall be closed for vehicular movement from 10 am to 8 pm. Road users are, therefore, advised to make use of alternative routes during this period.

Vehicles coming from the Cricket Stadium chowk and intending to go towards Matka Chowk may turn right from the Sector 16/17 light point then turn left from the Lyons light point, straight to the Hotel Taj light point, then turn left on to Madhya Marg towards Matka Chowk.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Matka Chowk and intending to go towards the Cricket Stadium chowk shall take a left turn towards the Taj Hotel light point, turn right towards the Lyons light point, again turn right towards the Sector 16/17 light point and finally turn left towards the Cricket Stadium chowk.

Similarly, the entire road stretch from the Sector 16/15/11/10 roundabout up to Matka Chowk will be closed for vehicular movement on the two days between 10 am and 8 pm. 

Police officials said the pick-and-drop points for taxi cabs shall be on the rear side of Hotel Shivalikview, Sector 17, Shanti Kunj parking, Sector 16, the parking area in front of the Sector 9 market on Madhya Margh and opposite the petrol pump in Sector 10.
