The district-level primary games began at Guru Nanak Stadium here on Friday.

Salwinder Singh Samra, District Education Officer, Secondary Education, presided over the event. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Students must take part in sports. Games teach us the lesson of discipline and hard work. ”

The students took part in football, kho kho, kabbadi, gymnastics and other games.

In football, Ajnala zone got the first position and Baba Bakala zone second. In kho kho, Baba Bakala zone stood first and Amritsar zone second. In kabaddi boys, teams of Ajnala zone and Baba Bakala zone were declared joint winners.

Deputy DEO Rekha Mahajan, Manpreet Kaur and Mohan Singh were among the prominent present.
