Left parties condemn Centre’s move on Article 370

AMRITSAR: Left parties held a conference at Company Bagh to condemn the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir by the BJP-led Union Government on Tuesday.

Left parties held a conference at Company Bagh to condemn the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir by the BJP-led Union Government on Tuesday.

The conference witnessed participation of the Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) New Democracy, the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation, Inqlabi Lok Morcha Punjab and Lok Sangram Morcha among others.

Communist leaders termed the government’s move as unjustified, illegal, and irresponsible. They stated that the entire Valley had been converted into jails and fundamental rights of citizens were being violated.

Lakhbir Singh Nizampura of the RMPI said the government should reverse its decision. The leaders stated that the BJP was trying to turn the country into a fascist state which was against the interest of common people.
