Open-air gym inaugurated at Green Avenue

AMRITSAR: An open air gym was inaugurated at Green Avenue Community Park by Raya Sabha MP and BJP president Shwait Malik.

An open air gym was inaugurated at Green Avenue Community Park by Raya Sabha MP and BJP president Shwait Malik.

He said the health index of people displayed the real development of the nation. He said as many as 100 open air gyms would be set up in the city parks with the help of MPLAD funds.

He hoped that these gyms would help youth to keep away from drugs and focus on maintaining good health. He said the attempt was in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on making country men and women healthy and fit.

He said in near future potable water machines, toilets for girls school running in backward areas, streetlights and other amenities would be provided.

The state BJP president said the NDA government at the Centre was instrumental in investing Rs 1,600 crore in the city under different projects. These funds were invested to improve facilities at the local railway station, Sri Guru Ram Das international airport, border trade, construction of IT education centers and others.
