  • Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, along with visually impaired students, takes part in the 2nd Blind Walk, organised by the Dialogue Highway Trust, at Sector 17 in Chandigarh on Thursday. On World Sight Day, over 500 persons participated in the walk. Led by students from the School for Blind, Sector 26, the walk was held to raise awareness about the problems faced by the visually impaired.
  • Sidhu flagged off the walk and announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to the trust. Dialogue Highway managing trustee Devinder Sharma said there were four crore visually impaired people across the globe, while the tally in India stood at 1.5 crore. As per the 2011 Census, there are 2,852 visually impaired persons in Chandigarh. The walk ended with various persons pledging to donate their eyes and other organs. Manoj Mahajan
