Shimla, October 17

The state reported 275 fresh Covid cases and three fatalities in the last 24 hours.

Two patients died in Mandi while one succumbed to the infection in Shimla district.

The highest number of 84 cases was reported in Mandi, followed by Shimla (49), Solan (29), Kangra (24), Kullu (20), Lahaul-Spiti and Sirmaur 16 each, Bilaspur (14), Una (13), Chamba (5), Hamirpur (4) and Kinnaur (1).

Meanwhile, 24 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Kangra on Saturday.

Shops to open on Sunday

Solan: Accepting the demand of the beopar mandal, Solan District Magistrate (DM) KC Chaman has permitted the traders to open their shops on Sundays till November 15.

The decision has been taken in view of the festive season and repeated requests made by the business community, said Chaman. The delay in the decision had led to a tiff between traders and the administration.
