Poetry on Guru Nanak to be translated in all languages

NEW DELHI:Poetry written on Guru Nanak Dev in Hindi will be translated in all languages of the country, passed in a resolution tabled in a two-day seminar on philosophy and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev concluded today in Khalsa College of Delhi University.

Poetry written on Guru Nanak Dev in Hindi will be translated in all languages of the country, passed in a resolution tabled in a two-day seminar on philosophy and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev concluded today in Khalsa College of Delhi University.

Today the seminar had two sessions – academy and valedictory. The academy session was chaired by Prof Bhagwan Josh and Dr Mahender Singh. In the session, papers were presented by scholars of Hofstra University in USA, University in Germany, Madurai University and Jadavpur University.

Former MP Tarlochan Singh, who was brain behind organising the seminar and inviting the renowned personalities, said the scholars came from outside Delhi were paid air fare tickets. They were honoured yesterday and were presented a cheque of Rs 25,000 each.

When asked that in-charge of Gurmat College Harinderpal Singh levelled allegations for misusing DSGMC facilities, Tarlochan Singh said, “I do not bother for allegations. I am working for the community and the religion. At the age of 85 I am not going to contest elections. The SGPC has included me in the core committee for celebration of 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.” Harinderpal demanded from the DSGMC to withdraw all facilities given to Tarlochan Singh.
