To promote science and technology, an open house was recently organised at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal.
Around 200 students of various colleges and schools visited the university’s laboratories, including the robotic lab.
Vice-Chancellor Shree Prakash Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a dream to make the country a developed Bharat by 2047 and science and technology would play a vital role in this regard. Everyone should work hard to fulfil this dream, he added.
The Vice-Chancellor said to encourage the youth towards science and technology, an open house was organised so their interest can be developed in it.
The theme of the open house was ‘Women in Science and Technology’.
University faculty member Dr Pradeep Singh said the students visited laboratories of various subjects, including chemistry, computer science, electronics and communication, and civil engineering.
A special poster exhibition based on Indian traditional science and technology and contribution of scientists was organised.
The Vice-Chancellor said Ayushi, Kartik, and Himansi bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively, in the poster exhibition competition of the physics department.
Anjali Panchal and Ritika bagged the best poster award for the chemistry department. Nikita Kadyan gave a presentation on the use of maths in daily life.
