88 of 90 Haryana MLAs vote in Presidential poll

Chandigarh, July 18

Voting for the presidential election in which NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu and Opposition’s joint candidate Yashwant Sinha are locked in a direct contest was held at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today with 88 of the 90 legislators casting their votes.

The Assistant Returning Officer said the voting began at 10 am and went on till 5 pm. Kuldeep Bishnoi, rebel Congress MLA, who had cross-voted in the last month’s Rajya Sabha poll, and Naina Chautala, did not cast their votes here. The EC had allowed Bishnoi to cast his vote at Parliament House in New Delhi.
