Deputy Commissioner Rohtash Singh Kharb has suspended a clerk for committing irr2
Regularity of Rs 2.87 lakh at SDM office, Bilaspur.
“The Deputy Commissioner today suspended the clerk, Sukhdev Singh, for committing financial irregularity in SDM office, Bilaspur,” said Naveen Ahuja, SDM, Bilaspur.
He said the Deputy Commissioner had also directed him to frame a chargesheet against the clerk.
According to information, Sukhdev Singh was posted at SDM office, Bilaspur, as motor registration clerk (MRC) and billing clerk on May 1, 2017.
He worked on the said posts up to November 21, 2017. Thereafter, he was transferred at SDM office, Radaur.
Sources said Sukhdev Singh didn’t deposit Rs 2,87,090 in government bank account, which he received as motor vehicle registration fee on November 17, 2017. He reportedly used the money for his personal use.
Sources added that the irregularity came to light during a routine checking of record of motor vehicle registration branch.
Thereafter, Bilaspur SDM Naveen Ahuja got a preliminary inspection of the record of the said clerk’s tenure conducted by a clerk of his office.
When the irregularity was established, the record of the motor vehicle registration branch of the tenure of the said clerk was inquired (inspected) by the accounts officer of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), a branch of Additional Deputy Commissioner office, Yamunanagar.
“The accounts officer of DRDA conducted an inspection of the record of vehicles registered during the period of the said clerk. The accounts officer found an irregularity of Rs 2,87,090,” said SDM Naveen Ahuja.
He said the said amount of Rs 2,87,090 with bank interest of Rs 5,100 was recovered from the clerk and was deposited at bank account of the government on February 9, 2018.
