A 33-year-old financier was beaten to death in Krishna Colony of Samalkha in the district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ravinder of Kiwana village in Samalkha.

Shailender, cousin of the deceased, said his brother had an office near Gera Dharam Kanta in Samalkha. He was the only son of his parents and is survived by his parents, wife and three children.

After closing his office in the evening, he was on the way to his village on a scooty, but he stopped at his friend Pankaj’s shop near Blue Jay restaurant, he said.

Meanwhile, four youths came there and demanded a bottle of liquor from Pankaj and started abusing and thrashing Pankaj after he refused to give them the bottle, said the police.

Ravinder intervened into the matter and asked Pankaj to run away. He also tried to run away, but was chased by the accused near Hanuman temple in Krishna Colony and beat him up. They also hit his head with a brick and died on the spot.

On getting information, Inspector Narender Dahiya reached the spot and collected CCTV footage of the area.

Dahiya said, “The accused have been identified as Vicky, Dhaula, Jaibeer, alias Zebra, and Monu, all residents of Chulkana village.”
