The Palwal police have nabbed a person for impersonating as a police official.

The accused, identified as Din Mohammed, alias Dinu (45), a resident of Jaleb Khan Colony of Hathin in the district, was arrested from Buraka road today.

The police found fake ID cards of the Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Police along with police dress, shoes and belt from his possession. He was riding a motorcycle (HR-14Q-3873) when he was arrested.

The accused had fake ID cards mentioning his name as inspector Ramavatar Yadav and Rameshwar Yadav.

“The accused perhaps used to impersonate as a police officer in order to flow fake currency in the market as fake currency worth Rs 6,150 was recovered,” said a police official.

The accused is wanted in 12 criminal cases of cheating, fraud, robbery, attempt to murder in Faridabad, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
