Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered BJP worker Deepak, who served him in the party’s office in Rohtak two decades ago when he was the incharge of party affairs for Haryana.

On his arrival to Garhi Sampla, Modi enquired from Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and others about Deepak and wanted to know whether or not he had come to the rally.

Enquiries by BJP functionaries revealed that Deepak was in the BJP’s office in Rohtak.

Looking at Modi’s eagerness to meet Deepak, arrangements were made to bring him immediately.

Feeling humbled at Modi’s gesture, Deepak said he had never imagined that the PM would remember him after 20 years.

“Modiji was the incharge of Haryana affairs from 1998 to 2001, when he became the Gujarat Chief Minister. During this period, he often stayed at the party’s office in Rohtak, where Deepak would cook food for him,” said CM’s media adviser Rajiv Jain.
