917 private buildings to be acquired for Pathankot-Mandi road project

The field staff of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will start land acquisition proceedings along with the measurement of land this weekend in Nurpur subdivision for the Pathankot-Mandi national highway expansion project. As many as 3,781 persons will be affected when their private land is acquired in the subdivision.

NHAI sources revealed that around 70 hectares (in 1,981 khasra numbers) having 917 private buildings, including houses and shops, and 19 government buildings are being acquired in Nurpur for the widening of the National Highway No. 154 from Kandwal to Mau.

Enquiries revealed that 190 private buildings were being acquired in the Bassa revenue ‘’mohal’’ in the Chhatrolli patwar circle, 183 in Kandwal, 148 in Baan (Nagni), 139 in Nagabari, 104 in Jachh, 66 in Bhadwar, 49 in Band-Kardian, 27 in Niazpur (Nurpur) and 11 in Lagor ‘’mohal’’.

As per the summary report of the land to be acquired, the affected persons of Jassur and Jachh will get a maximum of Rs 8,000 per meter as the circle rate whereas Rs 7,000 per meter is being given to the affected persons in Kandwal, Pucca Tiyala, Nagabari, Naglahar and Raja Ka Bagh revenue ‘’mohals’’. The affected persons of Bassa, Chhatrolli, Rampuri and Chogan (Nurpur) will get Rs 5,000 per meter whereas the minimum circle rate Rs 4,000 per meter has been fixed for the affected people of Niazpur (Nurpur), Lagor, Baghni, Drug, Baan, Kohri, Bhadwar, Khajian, Nage da Pail, Tattal, Ghuliana, Pleen, Mankot, Jounta, Sujanta and Mau ‘’mohals’’ in Nurpur.

A team of the NHAI conducted sample measurement of land to be acquired for the project in the Kandwal patwar circle recently. It will resume work in a couple of days in the Nurpur region.
