The development works being done in Bilaspur district will change the outlook of the district. It was ignored by Congress governments.
JP Nadda, BJP national president, said this after reviewing the development works of AIIMS at Kothipura in Bilaspur district today. He was accompanied by Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister, during the visit to AIIMS. He said the government was spending over Rs 1,471 crore to provide the best health facilities to people of the state.
Nadda said the Bhanupalli railway line would be constructed at a cost of Rs 6,753 crore. The work on the 48.6 km line was in progress. The land acquisition up to Barry village was also complete.
The Chief Minister said a project of Rs 1,400 crore was announced to rehabilitate temples submerged in Govind Sagar at Nala Ka Naun. In the second phase of the project, Sandu Ground would be developed as a tourist destination. In the third phase, a reservoir would be constructed around the temples by constructing a barrage near Mandi Bharadi.
He said the Koldam Lifting Drinking Water Project of Rs 66 crore was in progress to provide 21 lakh litre of drinking water daily to AIIMS and hydro engineering college of which 97 per cent work was completed.
He said Rs 10 crore was spent on the construction of the 50-bed capacity Maternal and Child Health Care Centre at Bilaspur and its construction was nearing completion.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajinder Garg, MP and state BJP president Suresh Kashyap, MLA Subhash Thakur and MLA JR Katwal were also present.
