Screening centres set up at inter-state barriers

Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar today said screening centres of the health department have been set up on all six entry points of the district near the inter-state barriers.

He said people who are reporting at the inter-state barriers from Punjab are being taken to the screening centres. He said as per government orders, all such people moving from one state to another are being quarantined for the next 14 days.

The DC said the district administration had set a target of creating quarantine facilities for 5,000 persons, adding that arrangements had been made for quarantining 2,500 persons today. He said in the first phase, quarantine centres would be set up at religious places. Sandeep Kumar said quarantine centres that will be activated in the first phase include Baba Bal Ashram in Kotla Kalan village, Gurudwara in Dehlan village, Jogi Panga and the Community Complex at Mata Chintpurni shrine. Chief Medical Officer Dr Raman Sharma said about 250 persons reported at the Mehatpur barrier, 150 at the Pandoga barrier, while 100 reached the Gagret barrier today. All were medically examined and their quarantine cards had been made, he said. OC
