The Court of Adjudicating Officer, Additional District Magistrate, Kathua, Ranjeet Singh has taken action against Food Business Operators (FBOs) for violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006.

A total fine of Rs 1.59 lakh has been imposed on several manufacturers, wholesale dealers, and retailers during the proceedings related to the cases in Bani, Basohli, and Kathua blocks.

The penalties were levied in response to the contraventions of the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006 by the traders of aforementioned areas.

The ADM, serving as the Adjudicating Officer, emphasised the importance of adhering to legal regulations in the food industry. He sternly warned the erring FBOs to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act and its associated rules, cautioning that non-compliance will result in stricter consequences in the future.
