A woman died due to coronavirus in Kashmir and 182 persons tested positive for it, taking the total caseload in J&K to 3,342, officials said on Friday.

A 55-year-old woman from Batamaloo died at Srinagar’s Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital on Thursday evening within an hour of her admission.

Five doctors and seven pregnant women are among 182 Covid-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

So far, 36 persons have died from the pandemic in J&K, 32 in Kashmir Valley and four in Jammu.

“In the UT of J&K, 182 new positive cases have been reported since our last update yesterday which include 74 from Jammu and 108 from Kashmir. One Covid death has been reported from Kashmir,” read the media bulletin on novel coronavirus.

Thirty eight Covid patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of J&K.

Srinagar district has reported nine deaths, the highest in any district in J&K, followed by seven in Baramulla, Anantnag five, Kulgam four, Shopian three, Jammu and Budgam two each, and Udhampur, Kupwara and Bandipora one each.

The official bulletin said that out of 182 positive cases, 42 were reported from Shopian, 26 from Udhampur, 22 from Srinagar, 13 from Kupwara, 12 from Jammu, 11 each from Kathua and Ramban, nine from Budgam, seven from Baramulla, six from Anantnag, five from Doda, four each from Bandipora and Samba, two each from Kulgam, Pulwama, Poonch, and Rajouri and one each from Reasi and Ganderbal.

Jammu and Kashmir had on Thursday reported highest single-day coronavirus cases, numbering 285.

A majority of the cases have been reported from Kashmir, 2,515. Jammu reported 809 cases.
