Event for cops’ families

JALANDHAR: Promoting the message of healthy living and fitness, CT Group of Institutions, in association with Jalandhar Police Commissionerate and Heart and Soul Fit Studio organised Weekend of Wellness (WOW) in Model Town on Sunday.

Promoting the message of healthy living and fitness, CT Group of Institutions, in association with Jalandhar Police Commissionerate and Heart and Soul Fit Studio organised Weekend of Wellness (WOW) in Model Town on Sunday. The event was dedicated to the families of police personnel.

DCP Detective Amrik S Powar, ADCP Parminder S Bhandal, along with CT Group chairman, Charanjit S Channi, co-chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi, and vice- chairman Harpreet Singh were the guests on the occasion.

People of different age bars participated in the event. They broke into synchronised dance moves and pumping workouts in a traffic-free zone. The streets of Model Town were cordoned off for the residents from 6 am to 9 am. They used the streets for recreation that promoted health, well-being, fitness, togetherness and joy. The traffic was not allowed for three hours as residents reformed their roads as open-air dance studios, art hubs, gymnasiums and yoga institutes.

The event started with the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. Students of hotel management cleaned the streets of Model Town market. Later, many fun-filled activities like cross fit, cycling, circuit training, yoga, aerobics, zumba, live dhol, floor painting, gully cricket, open DJ, badminton and soccer took place.

The DCP said: “This is one of the great and healthy initiative taken by the CT Group and Jalandharites have shown up in a good number despite cold weather today.”

Harpreet Singh, vice-chairman, CT Group said the endeavour was aimed to encourage people to start walking, cycling and doing more fitness-related activities in an entertaining way for a healthy living. The event was organised on Sunday to promote healthy lifestyle and remind the citizens to reclaim the streets as it belongs to them.— TNS
