Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will lay the foundation stone for development works worth around Rs 100 crore tomorrow.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday said the minister would be laying the foundation stone for development works in various wards of the Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs 33.09 crore on Ladowali Road. Likewise, the minister would also lay the foundation stone for development of green areas worth Rs 12.74 crore under the Jalandhar Smart City at Urban Estate Phase I.

The DC said the minister would lay the foundation stone for the construction of Trunk Storm Water Drainage and allied works in Area Based Development zone of the city at a cost of Rs 20.37 crore on 120 Feet Road.

The Deputy Commissioner further said Randhawa would lay the foundation stone for the development of Smart Roads in Area Based Development zone of Jalandhar at a cost of Rs 36.16 crore under the DAV College flyover. He said the projects worth over Rs 100 crore would give a much-needed impetus to development of the city.

The minister would lay the foundation stone in the presence of MLAs and other dignitaries of these respective areas. The DC said the executing agencies for these development works would be the Municipal Corporation and the Jalandhar Smart City Limited.

Projects will boost development in city: DC

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said projects worth over Rs100 crore will give a much-needed impetus to development of the city. The foundation stone for the development works will be laid by Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Saturday.
