Job fair to be held from Feb 21 to 24

JALANDHAR: DC Varinder Kumar Sharma today said the upcoming job fairs in the district would prove to be a one stop platform for job seekers and job providers, thereby immensely benefitting the both.

DC Varinder Kumar Sharma today said the upcoming job fairs in the district would prove to be a one stop platform for job seekers and job providers, thereby immensely benefitting the both.

The DC also said the job fairs to be held in district from February 21-24 would serve the twin motive of opening new vistas of employment to the unemployed youth on one hand and providing skilled workforce to the industrial giants and corporate on the other. He said in this platform, job seekers could upload their profile and seek employment whereas job providers would get free access to the databank of skilled youth from where they could choose the workforce as per their need. Sharma said passed out students and final year students of Universities/ Colleges/ ITIs would be also eligible to apply in this job fair. He said the job fair would commence on February 21 at DAVIET and on February 22, 23 and 24, the venue of the fair would be the Shahpur campus of the CT Institute. Sharma said the youth desirous of getting jobs through these fair must be between the age group of 19 to 28.

The DC said the interested youth must get their names registered in the District Employment Bureau so that their details could be submitted to the relevant companies for their interview, test and placement. Besides, the candidates could also register themselves online on state web portal www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in. — TNS
