Jalandhar:Pensioners of the Cantt division of the Punjab Raj Power Corporation and Transmission Corporation Ltd Pensioners Association today held a protest outside the office of the Additional Supervising Engineer Cantt Circle for non- implementation of their long-pending demands on the call of the state committee.
They raised slogans against the Powercom management and the state government. Addressing the gathering, Cantt Circle president Chamanjit Singh and circle Jalandhar president Shiri Ram Jangi, circle leader Kuldip Rana, accused the state government and the Powercom management of not responding to their demands despite the issues being raised and assurances given by the management.
They said the state government had adopted the anti-employee policies. The government had closed the Bathinda Thermal Plant and many units of the Ropar Thermal Plant.
They said the salaries and pensions of the employees had been stalled, and they were waiting for months to get their pensions adding that the management should release their dues soon. —TNS
