Woman flees with paramour, husband tries to commit suicide

Hoshiarpur, February 22

Saddened over the infidelity of his wife, (the mother of his six children), a migrant labourer, identified as Ramnivas (36), attempted to commit suicide by swallowing some poisnous substance here today.

He was admitted to the Civil Hospital where his condition is said to be critical. Ramnivas, a native of Uttar Pradesh, worked on a brick kiln at Patial village, with his wife Urmila. His wife fled from the house with her lover to Dadri (Ghaziabad). Ramnivas persuaded her and brought her home but she ran away again.

He was pleading to persuade her to return again, but on Saturday morning his wife refused to return home. As a result, Ramnivas got upset and swallowed the poison. After some time, the family saw Ramnivas vomiting and after he fainted.

On seeing Ram Niwas lying unconscious and the packet of poison. His brother brought him to the Civil Hospital. According to doctors, the condition of Ram Niwas is critical.

Despite repeated attempts by Ramniwas to bring her back, she refused to come back and raged over it.
