In an effort to enhance community preparedness, Phulkari Women of Jalandhar joined hands with Indian Medical Association (IMA), Jalandhar, to conduct a comprehensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) workshop here today.
Under the slogan “Jaan Hai to Jahan Hai,” the workshop aimed to equip participants with essential lifesaving skills, turning them into effective first responders during emergencies.
Led by Dr Abhishek Kumar and supported by Dr Meenakshi Anand, Dr Vibha Mahajan, Dr Rajwinder, and Dr Anuradha Bansal, the workshop delved into the intricacies of CPR, emphasising its simplicity and the potential to save valuable lives.
Neerja Mahajan, president of the Phulkari Women, extended thanks to IMA president Dr Deepak Chawla for orchestrating this informative session. She underscored the importance of first aid and CPR knowledge as an indispensable skill and civic duty for all citizens.
Dr Deepak Chawla highlighted the escalating prevalence of cardiac diseases, affecting individuals at a younger age. Stressing that most cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital settings, he emphasised the simplicity of CPR as a skill accessible to everyone. He urged citizens to acquire CPR proficiency, emphasising the potential to significantly impact survival rates.
