Woman delivers on road as Srinagar hospital denies her admission, baby dies

SRINAGAR: A woman from Kupwara district was forced to give birth to a baby on a road after LD Maternity Hospital in Srinagar allegedly refused to admit her.

A woman from Kupwara district was forced to give birth to a baby on a road after LD Maternity Hospital in Srinagar allegedly refused to admit her. The baby died soon after the birth.  

As per reports, the hospital authorities did not allow her to stay in the hospital overnight on Thursday.

The government has ordered a probe.

The woman delivered a girl around 8.30 pm.  The Division Commissioner, Kashmir, has directed the Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar, to submit a factual report within two days.
