An International Conference on Animal Nutrition (INCAN 2019) organised by Animal Nutrition Society of India (ANSI) was held at Biswa Bangla Convention center, Kolkata on the theme “Nutritional Strategies for improving farm profitability and clean animal production”. Dr. Udeybir Singh Secretary of ANSI informed that 630 participants from all over the world were registered and participated in the conference. ANSI conferred Dr. APS Sethi, Head Department of Animal Nutrition, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana with Fellow-ANSI award for his outstanding contribution in Monogastrics Nutrition. A lead paper entitled “Prospectus and research priorities in canine nutrition” was presented by Dr. Sethi and he also got best poster award for his research work on "Nutritional Practices Followed by Dog Owners in Barnala and Mansa District of Punjab".

Dr JS Hundal, was awarded with Associate Fellow-ANSI award for his exceptional research work on innovations and strategies to combat global warming i.e. transform paddy straw into feed pellets for livestock. Society bestowed LifeTime Achievement award to Dr MPS Bakshi (Former Head of Department of Animal Nutrition, GADVASU) for his magnificent contribution in Animal Nutrition. Dr Parminder Singh Co-chaired a Technical Session: Industry, Academia and Farmers Interface. Dr Amit Sharma, bagged best poster award for his research work. Dr Prabhjot Kaur got Best MVSc. Thesis award for the year 2018. Dr Ankita was presented with best oral presentation for her research work on “Effect of Emblica officinalis pomace supplementation effect on nutrient utilisation, enteric methane emission and productive performance of lactating buffaloes” in one of the session. Dr Vikas Phulia also got best oral presentation award for his research work on “Comparative Evaluation of Detoxification Methods on Toxic, Anti-Nutritional and Proximate Composition of Defatted Jatropha Kernel Meal”.
