100 Jarkhar Academy trainees get track suits

LUDHIANA: Navtej Singh Teja from Australia, a hockey promoter, gave away 100 track suits to the trainees of the Jarkhar Hockey Academy, run by the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust at Jarkhar village on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road near here today.

Navtej Singh Teja from Australia, a hockey promoter, gave away 100 track suits to the trainees of the Jarkhar Hockey Academy, run by the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust at Jarkhar village on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road near here today.

Navtej Singh handed over track suits to the organisers of the academy during a simple but an impressive function held at the main stadium of Jarkhar village on Sunday. He wished the trainees success in their lives. He congratulated the academy players who won the title in the All India Dashmesh Hawks Hockey Tournament, held at Ropar, recently.

Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu, advocate Harkamal Singh and Jagroop Singh Jarkhar, chairman, president and chief organiser of the academy thanked Navtej Singh for his goodwill gesture. .

This was followed by a meeting of the trust during which the arrangements made for the 33rd Jarkhar Sports Festival, scheduled to be held from December 13 to 15, were reviewed. Popular Punjabi singer, Karan Aujla would entertain the spectators on the concluding day, said Jagroop Singh Jarkhar.

Those who attended the meeting include sarpanch Dapinder Singh Dimpy, inspector Balbir Singh, Daljeet Singh Jarkhar (Canada), Shingara Singh, Tejinder Singh, Ajit Singh Ladian, Gursatinder Singh, Sahibjit Singh Sabi, Gurmeet Singh, pehalwan Harmail Singh, Sandeep Singh, Baba Rulda Singh, Sohan Singh Shankar and Soma Singh Romi.
