104th athletics meet at SCD

Ludhiana, March 7

Mukum Dham of BA III,  Sukhvir Singh of BA II, Priyanka Kumari (morning college) and Aryan Bhandari  (evening college) were named the best athletes of the 104th annual athletics meet of SCD Government College which concluded here on Thursday.

Hockey Olympian Balbir Singh Garewal distributed the prizes. Dr Ashwani Bhalla, deputy director, Higher Education Department, and Dr Nirmal Jaura, director, Students Welfare, Punjab Agricultural University, were the guests of honour.

Kulwant Singh, head of Physical Education Department, presented the annual sports report highlighting the achievements of college students at the inter-varsity, state and national level tournaments such as the Khelo India Games.

To encourage the students, cash prizes of Rs  4,000/- each were given to 34 achievers.  The meet concluded with lowering of the sports flag.
