Ludhiana, October 11

Two persons tested positive for Covid, while no death due to the disease was reported in the district today. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has reached 97.58 per cent.

Today 18 patients were asked to undergo home isolation, while there are 20 active cases in the district. Two patients are undergoing treatment for Covid in Ludhiana district at present.

Till date, a total of 25,82,020 samples for Covid test have been taken, of which 24,82,775 were found negative. The total number of patients (who had Covid) belonging to Ludhiana is 87,560, while 11,685 patients belong to other districts/states. The total number of patients who lost their lives to the disease is 2,103 from Ludhiana and 1,052 from other districts.

Samples of 5,835 suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere to all safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently.
