AAP seeks arrest of MLA Simranjit Singh Bains

Ludhiana: Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, vice-president of the state women’s wing of AAP, and Nitu Vohra, president of the Ludhiana women’s wing, in a joint press statement said today that the police should immediately arrest Atam Nagar MLA Simranjit Singh Bains as per the order of the court. Earlier, an FIR was registered against Bains in an alleged rape case. They said: “The Commissioner of Police (CP) should ask the police officer concerned to take speedy action to provide justice to the victim. If the police try to evade action under political pressure, AAP will protest at the CP's office and the residence of Congress Minister MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu.” TNS
