Avon Cycles to set up manufacturing plant

Ludhiana: Avon Cycles Limited, one of the India’s leading bicycle manufacturing company, is planning to set up a new unit in Neelon, near Ludhiana. The plant will manufacture aluminum frames, steel frames and complete bicycles. The intention behind establishing the state-of-the-art plant is to deliver mass premium and high-end bicycles, factoring in the current and the future demand across the country. “At Avon, we believe in pedalling forward! Continuing our journey towards delivering global quality products, we are establishing a new production plant to manufacture high-end cycles in the country,” said Onkar Singh Pahwa, CMD, Avon Cycles. The futuristic manufacturing plant holds a lot of promise in being a powerful resource for producing best-in-class bicycles and its components. The parts will

be manufactured using the latest machinery procured from within the country as well as international markets. With an investment of Rs 100 crore, the new bicycle manufacturing plant aims to stand out in terms of both quality and quantity adding over 5,000 bicycles per day to the current production of 10,000 bicycles (daily) from its existing plant located on the GT Road, Ludhiana. Rishi Pahwa, JMD, Avon Cycles, said: “The new plant is an effort towards ensuring that our customers get high-quality products

and take up cycling not only as a hobby but also incorporate it in their lifestyle.” — TNS
