Crafts mela on October 30

LUDHIANA: A food industry and crafts mela will be organised by the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Food Science and Technology, and Department of Food and Nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), on October 30 near the Students’ Home in the university.

A food industry and crafts mela will be organised by the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Food Science and Technology, and Department of Food and Nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), on October 30 near the Students’ Home in the university.

The mela will be held under the guidance of Dr JS Mahal, Director of Extension Education, and Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU. Dr Mahesh Kumar, Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, said the emphasis of the mela would be the activities of agro-processing complexes (APCs) by the department. Apart from that, a large number of self-help groups (SHG) will exhibit their products for sale.
