A young debt-ridden farmer of Galib Kalan village, near Jagraon, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home. The victim has been identified as Tajinder Singh (35).

Tejinder was alone at home as his wife, along with the children, had gone to meet her parents. The incident came to light when his wife, Kirandeep Kaur, returned home and found her husband hanging from the ceiling fan.

Tejinder owned 2 acres and was under a debt of Rs 8 lakh. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
