Ludhiana, December 8
Trainees of Gymnastics Coaching Centre, Khanna, helped Ludhiana district secure third position in the 57th Punjab State Gymnastic Competition held at Jalandhar on December 4 and 5.
Krishna, Nitish, Subhash and Usman from the centre represented Ludhiana in the competition wherein they made contribution, which enabled their team finish at the victory podium.
In individual events, Krishna bagged gold medal in horizontal bar, silver medal in floor exercise and bronze medal in the parallel bars.
Principal Uma Dutt, Rattan Kumar, Prof Rajdeep and Mandeep Singh honoured the players for this achievement. They appreciated their coaches Bhupinder Singh, former District Sports Officer and Manoj Kumar for their guidance in attaining this feat.
Meanwhile, Krishna and Subhash have been selected to represent Punjab in the ensuing National Gymnastics Championship.
