Hosts Ludhiana and visitors Patiala shared a point each as the second match in the ongoing Punjab One-Day Inter District Cricket Tournament for FC Mittal Trophy, played at the Punjab Agricultural University ground here on Saturday, was washed out.

Patiala won the toss and decided to bat first. After two hours of play, it started raining, resulting in the loss of 50-minute play, due to which the match was reduced to 46 overs each side.

Patiala scored 275 runs for the loss of five wickets. Their innings revolved around skipper Sanvir Singh, Anmol Malhotra, Karan Kalia and Prabhjot.

Sanvir and Prabhjot scored 65 and 42 runs, respectively, whereas Anmol and Karan remained unbeaten on 74 and 46 runs, respectively.

Ludhiana began its reply on a dismal note, losing three wickets with just 10 runs on the board. Nihal Wadhera and Geetansh Khera steadied the innings and took the score to 38, when it began raining heavily, forcing to call it a day.

  • Patiala: 275 for 5 in 46 overs (Prabhjot 42, Prabhsimran 16, Sanvir Singh 65, Anmol Malhotra 71* and Karan Kalia 46*; Hartejassvi 2 for 71, Simran 1 for 63 and Baltej Singh 1 for 64).
