Ludhiana, August 18

For the welfare of Covid patients, the district administration has developed a mobile app through which patients can apply for home isolation while sitting at their homes.

The mobile app, ‘Home Isolation Ludhiana’ is at present available on Google Play Store (for android phones) and will be launched on the iOS platform (for iphones) also in a few days. The app can also be downloaded by visiting web link — https://homeisolationpunjab.in

The app has been launched by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh through videoconferencing. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, ADC (D) Sandeep Kumar, Jagraon ADC Neeru Katyal Gupta, Raikot SDM Himanshu Gupta, senior Youth Congress leader Kamil Boparai, besides others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amar said the mobile app would prove beneficial for residents.

He said earlier, residents who were tested positive for Covid had to visit government hospitals for applying for home isolation. But now, they could do so by simply using the app.

He said the residents would simply have to make a video of themselves showing a separate room, attached bathroom and a caretaker. Once the video was submitted, the patient would get confirmation. After submission of the application, the patient would be able to select a time slot in which he/she wants to visit the Covid care centre set up at Meritorious School, here, for check-up, before the application for home isolation was approved.

Dr Amar said if the patient was not feeling well, their attendant could also visit Meritorious School, Ludhiana, for final approval.

The Deputy Commissioner said only asymptomatic/patients with mild symptoms below 60 years of age would be eligible to apply for home isolation. He urged the residents to submit only correct information at the time of applying for home isolation.

He said this was the second mobile app launched by the district administration in the past few days. On August 9, a mobile app, ‘HBMS Punjab’, through which residents could check the real-time status of vacant beds in both private and government hospitals, was launched.

He said people could check the status of vacant beds on official web link https://ludhiana.nic.in/notice/covid-19-bed-status-in-ludhiana-district/  or www.hbmspunjab.in
