Ludhiana, June 19

Under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab Government, an awareness drive in Ludhiana district is going on in full swing. Several NGOs, under the aegis of the District Red Cross Society, Ludhiana, today carried out an awareness drive regarding the Covid-19 in different parts of Ludhiana district.

Mission Fateh campaign

The Mission Fateh campaign has been launched by the Punjab Government to make people aware about the precautionary measures taken by the government and the Health Department to contain the spread of the Covid-19 in all rural and urban areas of the state. Under the public awareness campaign ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by the Punjab Government to get the state rid of the Covid, ground activities are being organised in the district from June 15 to 21.

Balbir Ayry, secretary, District Red Cross Society, Ludhiana, also encouraged the NGO members by distributing Mission Fateh badges. He said the Covid-19 was not only a disease, but the repercussions associated with it led to several other problems. He said the people from the lower economic strata were worst affected. He said: “Although the Punjab Government made efforts to ensure that no person sleeps hungry during the lockdown, several NGOs also came forward for this noble cause and distributed dry ration as well as cooked food amongst people.”

While appreciating the role of organisations and youth clubs associated with the civil administration and the police department, Ayry said: “Whenever people suffer from difficulties, Ludhianvis always lend a helping hand to such persons.” He urged such organisations to carry out social service, but should also keep the precautions in mind so that we could make Ludhiana district Covid-free.
