Ludhiana, December 9

As their demand of regularisation of services has not been fulfilled, the contractual bus employees will protest in front of the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s residence.

The employees continued their strike on the third day at the bus stand here on Thursday. Majority of government buses were not plying on the roads today.

Members of the Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS and PRTC Workers Union had earlier announced that they will stage a protest outside Channi’s residence if the Punjab Cabinet did not take any decision regarding their demands in the meeting on December 9. Shamsher Singh, a union member said, “We came to know that our demands were not met in today’s Cabinet meeting. So, we are going to protest outside the residence of Punjab CM in Kharar on Friday.”
