Ludhiana, June 12
A team of the Special Task Force (STF), headed by in-charge Ludhiana (Range) Inspector Harbans Singh, arrested Vikas Kumar, a resident of Azad Nagar, Daba road, with 210 gm of heroin. The suspect was nabbed while he was going to deliver the contraband to his customers on his scooter.
After getting a tip-off, the STF members arrested the drug peddler from the Lohara-Gill road on Saturday. A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered.
The STF team arrested Ashwani Kumar, alias Suman, a resident of Rudra Enclave, Sahnewal, with 930 gm of heroin from near Gian Vidyalaya on Saturday.
The suspect, himself a drug addict and a tea vendor, was going to deliver the contraband to his customers on his scooter. Acting on a tip-off, the STF members intercepted the suspect and arrested him. A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered.
3 more land in police net
The police have arrested three drug peddlers. Raja Kumar, a resident of Lachmi Nagar, Sahnewal, was arrested with 20 gm of heroin and a car from near the Eastman Chowk on the Sua road here on Saturday.
Another drug peddler, identified as Inderjit Sahni, a resident of Bihari Colony on the Tajpur road, was arrested with 3.5 gm of heroin from near Amarjit Dharam Kanda.
One more person, identified as Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Mundian Kalan, was nabbed with 500 gm of cannabis (ganja) from Jiwan Nagar. Cases have been registered against the suspects under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
