Ludhiana, October 25
The police have arrested three drug peddlers, including two women, and have seized 1.3 kg of marijuana (ganja), 200 gm of heroin and Rs 2.8 lakh drug money from them.
A woman, identified as Chanda, resident of Jhuggi Colony under the Dholewal bridge, was stopped on suspicion near the Civil Hospital while she was coming on foot from the CMC Hospital side on Sunday. On her search, 1.3 kg of marijuana (ganja) was seized.
A case under Sections 20, 61 and 85 of the NDPS has been registered against her.
The police nabbed two more drug runners, identified as Salil and his accomplice Sunita Rani, both residents of Guru Ramdas Colony in Bhamian Khurd, while they were going in a car on Bhamian Road on Sunday.
A police party of the CIA-II stopped the car on suspicion and search of the vehicle led to recovery of 200 gm of heroin and Rs 2.8 lakh drug money.
The duo has been booked under Sections 21-B, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.
