New Delhi, June 14

The commerce ministry on Monday relaxed the export policy on anti-viral Remdesivir injection and its active pharmaceutical ingredients removing it from the prohibited category and placing it in restricted category.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade relaxed the norms, which mean exports of Remdesivir and APIs against advance authorisation will no longer require a separate permission.

Remdesivir export was banned two months ago amid a ferocious second Covid wave.
