Chandigarh, June 25
Irreversible loss may be caused if apprehension regarding threat to life turns out to be true, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has asserted while directing protection to a woman “fearing for life and liberty at the hands of Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members”.
Justice Anoop Chitkara also made it clear neither the response of the official respondents, nor the issuance of notices to the private respondents, was required given the nature of the order the court proposed to pass.
The direction came on the petition filed against Punjab and other respondent by the woman through counsel Rahul Bhargava and Arti Kaur. The Bench was told that the petitioner’s husband was complainant in cases against Bishnoi.
