Going the Sania Mirza way, Shamia Arzoo, an aeronautical engineer hailing from Mewat, is all set to marry Pakistani cricketer Hasan Ali.

The Nikaah ceremony is slated to be held in Atlantis Palm Hotel on August 20 and her family of 10 people are set to depart for Dubai on August 17.

Arzoo, currently employed with Emirates Airlines, hails from quaint village of Chandeni in Mewat and is daughter of retired BDPO Liaquat Ali. Having done her B.Tech (Aeronautical) from Manav Rachna University, she went ahead to join Jet Airways before landing her current job in Dubai three years ago.

Though the family has refused to divulge any details requesting for privacy, sources claim that Arzoo had met Hasan in Dubai through a common family friend.

The ceremony is expected to be a close-knit affair with her parents and close relatives attending the same. “Please respect our privacy. We don’t understand what this frenzy is all about as cross-border marriages are common in our area. Many of our relatives shifted to Pakistan during the Partition and thus marrying our daughters across the border is a routine. Just because groom is cricketer we don’t want to be in the media eye,” said one of Arzoo’s uncle.

The villagers, however, are thrilled with all the attention and many hope getting similar matches for their daughters after the alliance. Expecting media frenzy local police are on alert.

Hasan Ali (25) is a fast bowler who has 9 tests and 53 ODIs to his credit. He had caught attention in Pakistan's 2017 Champions Trophy triumph. He was part of this year’s Pakistani World Cup team.

Earlier, Shoaib Malik, Pakistan all-rounder, had married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on April 12, 2010.
