700 attend two-day medical event

The Akal College of Nursing in association with Global Health Private Limited, an international training centre of Medanta, Gurugram, organised a two-day cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training programme for 700 medical, nursing and paramedical staff of Akal Charitable Hospital, nursing students and faculty members of the college, and social workers of the Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib. The aim was to train healthcare personnel and community members on how to respond to emergencies of heart and quickly revive victims, including infants, children, adults and elderly. The trainer from Global Health Private Limited included Sinoy Jose, Sandeep K Raju, Mahima Massey, Garima and Pratibha Rana.

‘Quantum computing’ Workshop ends

A five-day national workshop on "Quantum Computing" organised by the University Institute of Information Technology, HPU, has concluded. Speaking at the valedictory function, the Chief Engineer-cum-project director (HPRIDC) appreciated the efforts of DRDO scientists and said the participants would have benefited from the workshop. The participants were made aware that with the invention of "Quantum Computer", the scenario would be adverse with the classical computers technology because the hacking of ATM, online banking, e-commerce, etc. would be easily possible.

RKC, Rajkot, win U-17 soccer tourney

The RKC, Rajkot, lifted the trophy in the final of the All India IPSC Soccer Boys U-17 Tournament-2019 held at Pinegrove School, Dharampur, by registering a convincing win of 3-0 over their competitors. The tournament was jointly hosted by The Lawrence School, Sanawar, and Pinegrove School, Dharampur. Scoring nine goals, Sneh Salet of RKC, Rajkot was declared the 'Player of the Final Match' and 'Highest Scorer' of the tournament. Swaraj Suresh Garade of BK Birla, Pune, was adjudged the 'Best Goalkeeper' of the tournament. Shripal Ram of RKC, Rajkot, bagged the 'Best Defender' award, 'Best Mid Fielder' was Latikesh Gumbade of Paravara School, Maharashtra. Saksham Ahlawat of Welham Boys' School, Dehradun, won the 'Best Player' of the tournament. The runners-up trophy was awarded to Welham Boys' School, Dehradun.

Meet on research begins today 

The Department of Visual Arts, Himachal Pradesh University, and Pratibha Spandhan, a Shimla-based society, will jointly organise a two-day "Paramhansa Yogananda" international conference on "recent trends in interdisciplinary research" beginning September 9. Prominent spiritual leaders, scholars, scientists, researchers and students have been invited. The conference will focus on interdisciplinary approaches to help understand problems encountered by people working in different areas of academia and will serve as an interface for spiritual leaders, academicians, policy makers, research scholars and students across the academic world to deliberate on the paradigm transition in both qualitative and quantitative research.
