The main road adjacent to the Godrej building in Mohali was built around four months ago. However, in a short span of time, its condition deteriorated so much so that it is being repaired now. Road with a life span of four months is nothing but wastage of taxpayers' money. Manbir
Improve Public transport
The Chandigarh Administration has been making plans and proposals for checking traffic woes in the City Beautiful, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. Over the years, various measures, such as car-free day, introduction of cycling, ban on diesel auto-rickshaws, widening and construction of slip roads and cycle tracks, have been undertaken to check traffic snarls. However, the only solution to the problem is developing public transport system. The UT Administration should purchase at least 500 hundred mini-buses for the city. SK Khosla, Chandigarh
Don't neglect forest areas & slip roads
In Chandigarh, there are a number of forest and other solitary areas devoid of lights. In the past, a number of rape cases have been reported from such spots. The Administration should beef up security and install streetlights to avoid such heinous crimes. Slip roads also needs attention as far as security is concerned. Abhilasha Gupta, Mohali
